Holidays in Croatia. Pula offers a variety of excellent opportunities for tourists. Offer includes many sports grounds, recreational facilities and entertainment programs, terraces with live music, discotheques, casinos, inns and restaurants, as well as diverse excursions. We strongly recomend excursions to the Brijuni island where the Presidental Summer Villa is. One has to buy a ticket and announce their arrival a few days ahead, for security reasons, and visits are also possible only on certain days. Brijuni is famous for its international Polo tournament in July which attracts many famous spectators. Brijuni is also very famous for its dinosaur footprints on one of the beaches, as well as many exotic animals such as: zebras, elephants and antalopes, that were given to President Tito of Yugoslavia as presents from the Presidents of African states.
Pula is probably best known for its Arena – one of the best perserved Roman amphitheatres in the world. It is still an ideal venue for performances, so today it is in use for many famous concerts, theatres, operas and other events. Many famous musicians love to play in Pula Arena and have said that it is one of the world's best venues. There are many events, such as: the Croatian Film Festival has been organized traditionally every year since 1954 in the Arena (July), the Pop Music Festival "Arena" is also held in the Arena (July), Art & Music Festival - the rock music festival (in August).
Pula is also a centre of sport tourism because domestic and international sports teams and athlets find the favourable climate, quality sports facilities (tennis courts, sports halls, football stadiums, football fields, track-and-field venues, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, water sports facilities, etc.) suitable for the winter training season. Apart from the traditional sports on the ground, there are opportunities to enjoy a variety of water sports. |
